Shanghai Busted a Counterfeit Nintendo Accessories Company

The operation seized more than 54,000 USD worth of accessories.

On June 22nd, Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation posted on Weibo claiming they had investigated a company in Shanghai for selling counterfeit Nintendo Switch accessories.

In the announcement, Shanghai Municipal Administration received a report from the Nintendo trademark owner on February 24th, 2022. It said there was an e-store selling counterfeit Nintendo products online. The government personnel and police soon investigated the store and they found 1559 pieces of accessory devices with the “Nintendo Switch” trademark. After identification, they found all those accessories were counterfeit.

In the following investigation, that company had a total sale equal to 357392.4 CNY (about 53k USD) on the counterfeit Nintendo accessories. The e-store-related personnel was arrested by the police according to the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China.

The case was still under investigation at this moment.
