The Shanghai Police’s MinHang detachment arrested three men in Shanghai last Friday for allegedly selling fake PlayStation controllers and Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons. According to early estimates, the amount of money involved was more than 400,000 CNY (~60k USD), and about 1,800 fake controllers were seized during the arrest. Through the course of the investigation, police found that the three suspects have been jointly selling fake game controllers online since May 2021. At the time of their capture, a total of more than 2,000 counterfeit controllers were already sold.

Currently, the three suspects are charged with violating the law against selling counterfeit goods, and they could face up to three years in prison and a fine.
