The Bureau of Culture and Tourism of Xuhui District, Shanghai announced a list of organizations in the creative industry that will receive a government subsidy. 40 projects are on the list, aiming to boost the growth and prosperity of the creative industry in Shanghai. Four games, including the unreleased Honkai series game by HoYoverse, Honkai: Star Rail are among these 40 projects.

Honkai: Star Rail is a role-playing game themed as adventures in the galaxy. Players will take the Star Rail and explore the unknown civilizations. Characters in Honkai Impact 3 will also appear in the game, but with totally different settings.
Honkai: Star Rail opened its first test in October last year and its second test in April this year. Yet, the game has not got a video game license.
