To celebrate its third anniversary, Sky: Children of the Light has planned a series of events. Today, the developer announced their first-birthday surprise: they will bring Sky: Children of the Light to PlayStation. Details have not yet been disclosed, but the developer assures that PlayStation will have crossplay with other platforms, and players can meet friends playing on mobile or Switch.

Sky: Children of the Light has continually expanded its cross-platform play since its release; as the announcement writes, “after initially launching on iOS in 2019, the game welcomed Android players in 2020, followed by Switch players in 2021. With the next port to PlayStation, we’re excited to extend the circle of light even further.”

The decision to bring the game to PlayStation also echoes the initial wish of the game development, to unite players with different gaming preferences. The creative director of Sky: Children of the Light, Jenova Chen, stated at the beginning of the third anniversary, “When we first started developing Sky, we hoped to create a game that would connect people through kindness. We aimed to create a game that hardcore gamers and casual players could play together, that exceeded the boundaries of gender or generations.”
