Today NetEase’s Naraka: Bladepoint released a short video suggesting that the game will soon launch a collaboration with KFC in the Chinese market. The collab event will probably feature costumes, weapons and other in-game props themed after KFC, and players will get them by ordering certain meals during the event.
Also, Naraka: Bladepoint showed a Chinese slang meme about KFC at the end of the video: “V me 50”.
The meme means “lend me 50 RMB to go to KFC”. This meme-like sentence corresponds to KFC's Crazy Thursday event held every Thursday in China, where some of the products are sold at very low prices that day, and people can enjoy a very good meal for just around about 50 RMB.
Over time, the event went viral in China and became a meme template on Chinese social media, and this is also why a lot of Chinese gaming companies have recently partnered with KFC.
