The revenue of metaverse games has grown significantly since 2019
The report by Sensor Tower shows that both downloads and revenue of metaverse apps have increased rapidly since 2019, with metaverse games contributing the most. Sensor Tower explains that the lockdown policies during the pandemic have made people turn to metaverse games to interact with each other and that VR technology has also increased its popularity since it brings a new experience to the games.
America ranks 1st in terms of the downloads of metaverse games
The report also points out that American players are the primary audience of metaverse games, contributing nearly 14 million downloads and about 300 million USD in revenue during the first half of 2022. Additionally, the most successful metaverse game is Roblox, ranking first on the top-downloaded list of metaverse games in America, Korea and several other regions.
