Three matches were held yesterday in the Group Stage of the 2022 Honor of Kings Challenger Cup, where MTG defeated GK 2:1 in a surprising upset, KSG swept BOA 2:0, and GOG defeated EMC 2:1.
The tournament is taking place in the city of Wuxi, in eastern China, from September 13th to October 6th and includes teams from KPL, KGL, and the National Competition.
In detail, between MTG and GK, in game one, GK had a perfect start and saw an advantage by the mid-game. At seven minutes, GK Pengpeng on Kai achieved a triple kill, allowing his team to secure a victory handily in this round.

In round two, the two sides were in a close fight initially, and GK gained a slight economic advantage. But in the mid-game, MTG turned things around. Following that, GK once again dominated the game with a lead in gold by 5k. However, in the closing moments of the game, Jiufan and Qingyuan from MTG played off one another marvelously, helping their team kill three champions while losing two and securing a victory in this round.
In round three, in the mid-game, MTG fully controlled the pace of the game. After that, they further expanded their advantage, and in the closing moments, MTG killed Luban No.7 and destroyed GK’s nexus, taking the win in both the game and the match.

As for the match between KSG and BOA, in game one, KSG Xiaojiu on Yu Ji achieved a quadra kill. In game two, KSG secured a quick victory within 13 minutes. In the end, KSG defeated BOA 2:0.
Between GOG and EMC, in game one, GOG Aohan’s damage accounted for 43% of the total for the team, and this excellent performance helped GOG win the first round. In round two, EMC bounced back by winning the final team fights. But GOG managed to take the win in the match with more stable performance in the third round.
