American McGee, the game designer famous for his Alice franchise, recently announced that the 'Alice: Asylum' project had been put to an end by EA, and there would not be another Alice game.

In his announcement on Patreon, McGee thanked all the supporters for their contributions to the project, which resulted in the creation of a 414-page Design Bible. He then presented the Design Bible and a production plan to EA to resume talks about the game's production. However, EA ultimately decided not to fund the project, citing an internal analysis of the IP, market conditions, and production proposal. Additionally, they stated that they were not prepared to sell or license the 'Alice' IP at this time.

McGee also further discussed his personal decision to end his involvement with 'Alice' and game production in general. He stated that he has no more ideas or energy left to apply towards getting a new Alice game made, nor does he has any interest in pursuing new game ideas in the current environment for game development.
