A new game from an independent game developer has aroused suspicion from Nintendo and has been removed from the eShop in multiple regions worldwide. The developer, Strange Scaffold, hopes to communicate with Nintendo to resolve this issue and have the game re-released on the NS platform.

The new independent game is suspected of promoting child gambling and has been taken down by Nintendo.

Sunshine ShuffleSunshine Shuffle

Sunshine Shuffle seems like an innocent and child-friendly game at first sight. The developer describes it as a "narrative poker adventure game where players play cards with cute animal friends." Based on the trailer, it appears to be a combination of Animal Crossing and Texas Hold'em Poker with an interesting storyline. However, Xalavier Nelson Jr., the person in charge at Strange Scaffold, raised alarms with comments made on social media platforms.

Nelson's recent posts on social media covered the difficulty in releasing the game due to a campaign aimed at dispelling rumors that Sunshine Shuffle promotes child gambling. Nintendo became increasingly concerned about the more forceful these statements were made. Nintendo worries that this game essentially promotes child gambling. Previously, games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive have been involved in gambling rumors with serious consequences.

From the developer's posts, Sunshine Shuffle seems to have been released on eShops outside of North America and has also landed on the Steam platform. It remains to be seen if Nintendo will take further action to ban the game or allow it to be sold globally.
