Capcom has announced that the latest title in the Street Fighter series, Street Fighter 6, has sold over 1 million units worldwide. The franchise has been popular since the release of the first Street Fighter arcade game in 1987, with Street Fighter II becoming a global sensation in 1991 due to its innovative battle system. The series continues to be popular today, with over 50 million units sold worldwide and a growing presence in the esports industry.

Street Fighter 6 is the newest addition to the series, launching seven years after the previous title. The game features new modes, including World Tour Mode and Battle Hub, as well as controller input options for players of all skill levels. The title has received positive reviews for its accessibility and diverse features, contributing to its success in reaching 1 million units sold worldwide.

Capcom is also investing in the esports potential of Street Fighter 6, with plans to provide over 2 million USD in prize money for the Capcom Pro Tour 2023, featuring the game. The champion will receive 1 million USD, the largest prize pool in the company’s history.
