"Goddess of Victory: Nikke" Dominates Mobile Gaming Charts with Over $400 Million in Revenue

Since its launch in November 2022, "Goddess of Victory: Nikke" developed by South Korean studio Shift Up and published overseas by Tencent's brand Level Infinite has consistently ranked among the top-selling charts in mainstream markets such as Japan and South Korea.

According to the latest data released by Sensor Tower, in the 7 months from November 2022 to May 2023, "Goddess of Victory: Nikke" has generated global cumulative revenue of over 400 million USD (approximately 2.89 billion RMB) on the mobile platform.

Among them, Japan has become the largest revenue market, accounting for nearly 60% of the market share according to the revenue share during the same period. The United States (15%) and South Korea (13%) follow closely behind. In terms of download volume, Japan also had the highest download volume during the same period, accounting for 23% of the total; the United States ranked second with a 14% share; and Thailand ranked third with an 11% share.

If we focus on the Japanese market, it is not difficult to see the popularity of "Goddess of Victory: Nikke" in the local mobile gaming market. According to Sensor Tower data, the game has ranked fifth in the Japanese mobile gaming revenue chart in the past 7 months, becoming the only overseas published product.

It is worth mentioning that in terms of revenue from Japanese Team RPG mobile games during the same period, the revenue of "Goddess of Victory: Nikke" is second only to "Umamusume: Pretty Derby" and third is "Blue Archive" recently released by Yostar, but the difference in revenue between the two is more than double.

The steady growth of revenue in the mobile gaming market for "Goddess of Victory: Nikke" is often accompanied by collaborations and content updates. For example, in February to March this year, the game ranked only 21st in the Japanese App Store bestseller chart before the collaboration with the popular anime "Chainsaw Man". However, on the day of the collaboration announcement, the game quickly soared to the top 3 and maintained its position within the top 15 during that period.

Looking at the age distribution of "Goddess of Victory: Nikke" users, the three highest-revenue markets, namely the United States, Japan, and South Korea, have significant differences in their main audience. The data shows that the largest player group in the US market for "Goddess of Victory: Nikke" falls within the 18-24 age range. In South Korea, players aged 25-34 overwhelmingly dominate with a share of over 50%.

It is worth mentioning that the male-to-female player ratio in Japan and the United States is 7:3, while in South Korea, it is 6:4. In Japan, the 25-34 age group has the largest proportion of players, accounting for 40%. In addition, the 35-44 age group in Japan has the highest proportion among the three markets, indicating that "Goddess of Victory: Nikke" has gained support from a wide range of age groups in Japan.
