On July 14th, the Mobies 2023: Mobile Gaming Awards took place in Los Angeles, USA. Following global public voting and selection by internationally renowned industry experts, HoYoverse's "Genshin Impact" emerged as the winner of the prestigious 2023 Mobile Game of the Year award. Tencent's LightSpeed Studio was honored with the 2023 Best Mobile Game Developer award, while Moonton's "Mobile Legends: Bang Bang" (MLBB) was recognized as the 2023 Best Mobile Esports Game. MLBB-related esports events also secured three esports awards.
Mobies, co-founded by the "Esports Oscars" Esports Awards and North American esports veteran Matt Rutledge, aims to acknowledge organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to the global mobile gaming industry. This edition of Mobies featured 13 awards, encompassing various categories such as game publishers, esports teams, esports players, and industry collaborations. The event meticulously selected outstanding performers in each field through public voting, amassing over 1.5 million votes worldwide.

With the increasing popularity and development of mobile devices worldwide, the market share of mobile games in the global gaming industry is rapidly expanding. Chinese manufacturers are progressively surpassing their competitors in the mobile gaming domain. HoYoverse's "Genshin Impact" clinched the esteemed Best Mobile Game of the Year award due to its immense popularity and global influence, surpassing renowned mobile games like "Peacekeeper Elite," "Pokemon Unite," "Wild Rift," "Call of Duty," and "Marvel Snap."
In the Best Game Developer of the Year award category, Tencent Timi Studio, Garena, Tencent LightSpeed Studio, Supercell, Bluehole, and Second Dinner were nominated, with Tencent LightSpeed Studio emerging as the victor.
For the Best Mobile Esports Game of the Year award, globally celebrated mobile esports games such as "Arena of Valor," "Clash Royale," "Peacekeeper Elite," "Free Fire," and MLBB were all nominated. Ultimately, Moonton's MLBB secured the award. As per Moonton's official introduction, MLBB was launched in 2016 and has surpassed 1 billion downloads globally, with over 100 million monthly active users.

In the race for the Best Mobile Esports Event of the Year award, the 4th MLBB World Championship (M4) claimed the honor. The previous event became one of the most popular esports events globally, attracting a peak viewership of over 4.2 million. Other events like the PUBG Mobile Global Championship, Free Fire World Series, and Brawl Stars World Finals were also nominated for awards.
