The International is the official grand annual event for DOTA 2, often making news for its record-breaking attendees and prize pool.
Both teams were staying at the same hotel, and it is speculated that one staff member contracted Covid, and then spread it to several players including flyfly and Monet.
However, The International will still be starting today (Oct. 7th) as planned, and players that are Covid positive can still participate in their own isolated box. Since the live audience was canceled, the organizers believe this isolation method is adequate for the event to carry on.
Team Aster and others that tested positive for COVID will be allowed to play TI10 over the internet from their isolation rooms that will be setup with the required equipment. #TI10 #Dota2

This is good news for Chinese DOTA fans, as Team Aster is performing very strongly this year, and is very likely to win the world title.
The 10th International was originally slated to happen in 2020 but was delayed for one year due to the travel bans resulting from the pandemic.
