FromSoftware has delighted fans with the release of "Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon," rebooting the beloved series for the first time since 2012. The company, known for its successful Souls titles like "Bloodborne" and "Elden Ring," originally gained fame with the Armored Core franchise.

The latest release, "Fires of Rubicon," is performing well with critics, boasting a Metascore of 87 for both the PlayStation 5 and PC versions. The Xbox Series X version has a slightly lower score of 79. Unfortunately, last-gen consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One lack enough reviews to form a Metascore.

Compared to other FromSoftware titles, "Armored Core 6" holds its own. "Elden Ring" has a towering Metascore of 96 for PS5 and 94 for PC, and "Bloodborne" for PS4 follows with a 92 rating. While the new Armored Core's 87 may be lower, it still fares better than certain PC and Xbox One versions of "Dark Souls" and other legacy games.

"Fires of Rubicon" also stands out as the highest-rated game within the Armored Core series. Previous titles ranged from the mid-70s to high 60s, making this new installment a critical success and a promising return for the franchise.
