NetEase Games has recently declared the formation of a new studio named Fantastic Pixel Castle, embracing a remote-first approach under the leadership of Greg Street. The studio is in the early stages of crafting an ambitious AAA massively multiplayer online game, currently known by its working title, “Ghost.”
Greg Street, known for his influential work as the lead systems designer for World of Warcraft at Blizzard Entertainment and as the executive producer for League of Legends at Riot Games, spearheads the venture. He leads a team that brings together passionate veterans with extensive backgrounds in titles such as World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Guild Wars 2, Fortnite, Overwatch, and Valorant.
Studio head Greg Street emphasizes the studio’s dedication to transparency and player-driven development: “MMOs are complex to create, but at Fantastic Pixel Castle we have several advantages. Our remote-first setup empowers us to recruit top-tier talent globally and our intention to maintain a lean operation allows for swift design evolutions.
