After a two-year hiatus prompted by licensing issues, the popular multiplayer game Dead by Daylight has resurrected its beloved Stranger Things DLC, rekindling the collaboration with Netflix for fans worldwide.

In November 2021, the game's developer, Behaviour Interactive, was compelled to retract key components of the crossover, including characters Nancy, Steve, and the monstrous Demogorgon, along with the Hawkins Lab map, due to the expiration of their licensing agreement with Netflix. While these characters remained playable for those who had previously acquired them, new purchases were disabled, and the map was removed from the game's rotation.

Marking the Stranger Things Day celebration, Behaviour Interactive has reintroduced the complete chapter to the roster. "It's an exciting day for us and the Dead by Daylight community," expressed Mathieu Côté, the head of partnerships at Behaviour Interactive. "We are elated to bring back the essence of Hawkins and its memorable characters. It's a second chance for our players to dive into the spine-chilling universe of Stranger Things, which they might have missed before."

As confirmed by the developers, the re-release of the DLC has not undergone any changes. Players can once again purchase Nancy and Steve from the in-game store, evade the terrifying Demogorgon, and navigate the intricate layout of the Hawkins National Laboratory map.

The specifics of the renewed licensing arrangement between Behaviour Interactive and Netflix remain undisclosed. However, the return of the Stranger Things DLC is timely for the game's community, despite missing the Halloween window—a sentiment echoed by fans who are nonetheless excited to celebrate Stranger Things Day with this renewed gaming content.
