Honor of Kings, the immensely popular 5v5 MOBA game by TiMi Studios Group and Tencent Games, is stirring global excitement with a recent notification about region changes. This update hints at the possibility of the game's much-anticipated global release.

Currently available exclusively in Brazil, the feature allowing players to change their registered region suggests that new regions might soon be added to the game. This development fuels speculation about a worldwide launch, previously announced for the end of 2022 by the game’s global publisher, Level Infinite.

Since its release in China in 2015 and its global adaptation in 2020 as Arena of Valor, Honor of Kings has achieved significant milestones, including surpassing 10 billion USD in revenue. The game's shift to using its original title outside China began with an exclusive server in Brazil.

The region change, however, comes with certain temporary restrictions. Players who switch regions will be unranked for 30 days and will lose access to their original chatting channel and region-specific events. Post the 30-day period, players will be ranked in their new region, though it’s unclear if their previous rankings are preserved. Additionally, a 180-day limit is set for changing regions again, discouraging frequent switches.

This strategic move by Honor of Kings not only signals its expansion to new markets but also represents a significant shift in its global outreach strategy, leveraging its established success in China to tap into a broader, international player base.
