CCP Games, the developer of EVE Online, has announced that they are working with Microsoft to help the players import JavaScript API to Excel. In this way, the players can seamlessly pull data from the game.

For many years, the game has been described as a “spreadsheet simulator” due to the complicated nature of the game and how players need to use data to maximize their performance. Now, the joke is becoming a reality.

The API tool is still under development, but EVE players will be able to check their profit margins, fleet damage values, combat strategies, and analyze their weaknesses and strengths in the game.

The developer said in a press release that "The Microsoft integration is another step toward CCP’s goal of making the MMO more accessible for both casual and seasoned players."

The two sides will provide more details about the collaboration later this year.
