Saudi Arabia Plans to Build 'Gaming & Esports District' in Qiddiya City

Saudi Arabia is set to become a global gaming and esports hub with the construction of a dedicated 'Gaming & Esports District' within Qiddiya City, announced by the Qiddiya Investment Company. This project is part of a larger 'giga-project' aimed at creating a city focused on entertainment, sports, and culture.

The Gaming & Esports District will span over 500,000 square meters, featuring over 100,000 square meters of dining, retail, and entertainment spaces designed to bring the gaming world to life. The district will also include more than 2,000 themed residences and over 700 hotel rooms, transforming Saudi Arabia into a prime destination for gamers worldwide.

The centerpiece of the district will be a world-class Esports arena with the largest indoor LED screen and seating for 5,300, making it one of the top three Esports venues globally. The area is designed to host large-scale Esports events, with a total capacity of 73,000 people.

Additionally, the district will welcome top esports teams year-round, offering living and training facilities for up to 25 teams. Over 30 regional headquarters of leading gaming and Esports companies are also expected to be based there.

The Gaming & Esports District aligns with Saudi Arabia's national strategy and 'Vision 2030' to attract up to 10 million tourists annually by 2030, showcasing the country's commitment to becoming a vibrant social and economic powerhouse.
