Xbox fans are gearing up for an exciting start to the year as Microsoft has announced an Xbox Developer Direct for January 18. The showcase will feature the much-anticipated first gameplay footage of Bethesda's Indiana Jones game, developed by MachineGames, known for Wolfenstein: The New Order. This showcase will offer over 10 minutes of gameplay and insights from the developers, revealing how players will control the legendary cinematic hero. Bethesda's Todd Howard has described the game as "a mash-up," with plans for it to be an Xbox and PC exclusive.

Additionally, the event will present a detailed look into Obsidian's upcoming Skyrim-like RPG, Avowed, set in the Pillars of Eternity universe and expected to release this year. Other titles to be highlighted include Ara: History Untold from Oxide Games and Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. Both games have already made appearances in previous events, with Ara being showcased at Gamescom 2023 and Hellblade 2 receiving a new gameplay trailer at The Game Awards last month.

The Developer Direct will conclude with a separate presentation focusing on The Elder Scrolls Online, detailing the MMO's next major chapter. All featured games are slated for a 2024 release, except for Indiana Jones, which currently does not have a specified release window.
