Today, one of the biggest Chinese mobile game publishers, Leiting Games, announced on Weibo that their upcoming mobile RPG Aobi island: Dreamland has reached over 7 million per-registrations. The game development team also prepared a live stream to thank the players for their enthusiasm, and there will be staff to answer questions and give away in-game rewards during the stream.
As a classic IP operating since 2008, Aobi Island has a huge potential player base in China. This time, the producers hope to restore some of Aobi Island's classic gameplay on mobile and use new technology to create more interesting playing experiences.
Aobi Island: Dreamland opened a beta test in mid-2019 and won the Most Anticipated Mobile Game Award at the Huawei Developer Conference that year.
Although it is uncertain when the game will be officially released, there is little doubt that Aobi Island will be successful in the Chinese market, given the number of pre-registrations already.
