Right before Father’s Day, PlayStation China held a poll on the best dads in video games. The result turned out to be rather intriguing: Liben from Genshin Impact won first place by far, followed by Ethan Winters from Resident Evil 7.

Liben is an event-exclusive NPC that appears only in Marvelous Merchandise, a recurring event in Genshin Impact. One possible explanation for his popularity could be that players can trade cheap in-game materials to him in exchange for loot boxes that contains Primogem (Genshin’s premium currency).
Up to now, Liben from Genshin Impact has gained 3980 votes, followed by Ethan Winters’ 1519 votes; Kratos from God of War is placed 3rd with 1013 votes.
Other options include Radagon from Elden Ring (144 votes), Ballet Wallace from Final Fantasy 7 (144 votes), Hannya from GhostWire: Tokyo (0 votes), Hades from Hades (217 votes), and Victor Sullivan from Uncharted (144 votes).
Meanwhile, in the comment section, some players also questioned the absence of another popular fatherly figure, Joel from The Last of Us.
