According to the Hong Kong company registry website, ByteDance (HK) Limited has legally changed its name to Douyin Group (HK) Limited, effective on May 6, 2022, exactly 10 years after its establishment.
In addition, several subsidiaries of the group have also changed their names to “Douyin”.
Earlier this year, ByteDance appointed Julie Gao from Skadden, an international law firm, as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
These moves are believed to be part of a larger effort to list this mega business group in Hong Kong under the name Douyin Group.
