NetEase has created a Steam store page for its upcoming Tarkov-like shooter game Lost Light. The game will come out on August 3rd and will support cross-platform play between PC and mobile phones.

In Lost Light, players will play as a member of the special force Fireflies to explore an abandoned military-restricted area. Similar to the mechanics of the FPS game Escape from Tarkov, players need to survive and loot in the game and extract via the exit tunnels to save their gear and loot and get it to the hideout. Players can use resources to trade with other players and NPCs on a flea market and upgrade their hideouts so that they can carry bigger guns and better gear during the next game.

It took NetEase a lot of effort to perfectly restore the physical structure and material performance of real firearms in Lost Light, and players can also customize their weapons with over a hundred different accessories. The system will recommend certain customization paths for players as well.

In terms of the penalty for dying, NetEase has made a few changes from the original Tarkov game. When players are downed in Lost Light, they will not lose all their gear and return to the hideout immediately but will have a chance to disclose the coordinates and send an SOS signal. However, the players coming your way may not be your savior, and your signal will probably cause more chaos in this hellhole.
