Cygames announced on July 29 that it had signed a business transfer agreement with Kadokawa and Kadokawa Games regarding Metal Max-related businesses.
As a result, Cygames will take over the series IP and related assets. The future development of the Metal Max series has yet to be determined, but the company is committed to creating a new future for the 30-year-old series.
The creator of Metal Max, Hiroshi Miyaoka, will be working as a director for Cygames to "reboot the 'Metal Max' series seriously.”
