Crossfire is an online shooting game published by Tencent Games in China in 2007. It has become one of the world's most-played video games by player count and was the most popular shooting game in China for years.

In the previous anniversary events, players could purchase 7 gift boxes to acquire the exclusive anniversary in-game items for in-total 1400 CNY (equals 200 USD) and players are expecting the same this year. Instead, on this anniversary the way to acquire exclusive items is changed to a random wheel of fortune. In most players’ experience, it means they will pay more money for those in-game items unless they are super lucky.

Their unsatisfied voices and the demand of having a similar event to the previous year made the previous topics rise to hot trends.

On August 1st, 7 pm, the official Weibo of Crossfire posted an announcement, claiming that the anniversary random pull event will have a hard pity system, and the saying about “at most 140K CNY to claim all exclusive items” is a false rumor. However, players are not satisfied with their responses.
