RNG Defeated LNG Narrowly 3:2, Securing Fourth Seed of LPL in the Worlds

The match between RNG and LNG was held yesterday in the LPL Regionals, and, in the end, RNG beat LNG 3:2, securing the last spot for the LPL in the 2022 Season World Championship.

The other three spots have gone to JDG for the first seed, TES for the second seed, and EDG for the third seed.

In detail, in game one of the match between RNG and LNG, RNG had an initial advantage in the bottom and top lanes. Additionally, at 21 minutes, near the Dragon’s pit, RNG Gala killed LNG Tarzan, allowing his team to secure a Baron kill. RNG then quickly snowballed to a victory in this round.

In game two, initially, LNG was leading in gold considerably. Then, at 29 minutes, RNG Wei stole a Baron kill, and RNG Breath took out LNG Light on Zeri. After that, RNG began to turn things around. Despite LNG getting Baron in the next Baron fight, they failed to stop RNG’s pace and lost this round.

In game three, the First Blood took place in a 3v3 in the bottom lane, where LNG Light killed RNG Ming on Lulu. Following that, RNG failed to prevent LNG’s growing advantage in gold, and at 32 minutes, LNG decisively killed three champions and Baron, securing a victory in this round.

There was more back and forth in game four, but with the excellent performance of LNG’s top laner Ale, who ended 7/3/3, LNG won this round and brought the match to a tie of 2:2.

In the decisive last game, LNG was leading in gold by 6k before the 30-minute mark. But then, RNG Breath stood out, killing LNG Tarzan and LNG Lvmao from the left side in a team fight and helping his team secure a Dragon and Baron consecutively. In the end, RNG won both the game and the match.

RNG will compete in the Worlds as the fourth seed from the LPL. The Worlds play-in stage will take place in Mexico City, Mexico, on Sept 29th.
