Electronic Arts recently announced its intention to build the next-generation PC gaming platform - the EA app. It aims to bring gamers faster and more reliable gaming experiences. The EA app has officially completed its Beta version test run and will replace Origin as EA’s primary PC platform.

The EA app will only be available for Windows for the time being. According to Electronic Arts, the EA app will be its fastest and lightest PC client ever, with a simplistic design that makes it easy for players to find the games and content they're looking for and discover new games they love.

In addition, the EA App will support automatic game downloads and background updates. Players will be able to link their EA accounts to other platforms and services, such as Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation, to generate cross-platform friend lists.

EA is determined to make the transition to the EA app as easy as possible for existing Origin players. They will soon invite users to make the transfer on Origin. Once a player receives the invitation, all the games and content, including previously installed games, will be ready for use on the EA app.

Players' native and cloud files will automatically be moved to the EA app. Players can pick up wherever they left off, and even their friend lists can be transferred.
