Indie game studio Wildfire Game has received an investment from the game streaming platform Douyu recently, according to enterprise data portal Tianyancha. The amount of the new financial resources have not been disclosed. After the investment, the registered capital of the studio reached 15,400 RMB (~2,437 USD).
The studio, located in the Jiangsu province of China, was founded in August 2017 and is best known for its flagship game Eastern Exorcist, a 2D side-scrolling action RPG set in an eastern fantasy world with vicious spirits and monsters. The game has a hand-drawn Chinese ink painting style with many atmospheric scenes. Players can use their swords to execute demons and monsters with tactical combat mechanics.

Bilibili published this indie game in August 2020. At the time of writing, the positive reviews on Steam have surpassed 85%.
This is a first attempt by Douyu to create a presence in the indie game development arena. Previously, it had been making investments in culture and media areas.
