Ratata Arts has recently unveiled a captivating gameplay trailer for their upcoming rhythm strategy game, Ratatan. The developer promises a unique blend of rhythm and strategy, allowing players to assume the role of a conductor. As the conductor, players will have the crucial task of commanding an army of Ratatan creatures, who possess the ability to attack, defend, and support as they engage in battles against other armies.

These music-loving creatures can also collect "Cobuns," which can be instructed to chant, move, and attack. With all the musical chaos and excitement, the developer guarantees an epic rhythmic showdown. The trailer showcases the game's mechanics and visuals, giving players a glimpse of what to expect.

Ratatan's Kickstarter campaign will commence on July 31st, offering various stretch goals. The developer aims to expand the core gameplay by introducing new systems, mini-games, and modern modes. The game is set to be released on PC, with the possibility of supporting modern consoles as a stretch goal.

Kazuto Sakajiri, the producer of Ratatan, shared that the game will feature over 100 adorable characters battling it out on screen, four-player simultaneous battles, and an abundance of adventure and roguelike elements, surpassing even the beloved game Patapon.

Hiroyuki Kotani, the creator of Patapon, expressed his desire to create a Patapon-like experience with fresh elements for this release. He acknowledged the uniqueness of Patapon during its initial release and aimed to replicate that same feeling for the modern era. While a Patapon sequel is a possibility in the future, the focus for Ratatan was to create a game that stands on its own, showcasing their own style and desired gameplay. If the opportunity arises to discuss a Patapon sequel with Sony, they will explore that possibility further.
