A decade has rolled by since Grand Theft Auto V first made its debut on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, soon followed by its online counterpart, GTA Online. Rockstar Games took to an X thread to extend their gratitude to fans, crediting them for the game's long-standing success across different console generations.

Just last week, to mark this significant milestone, Rockstar rolled out fresh content for GTA Online. The anniversary special includes new outfits, GTA V-themed weapon finishes, additional gameplay modes, and a stock car known as the Bravado Hotring Hellfire exclusive for GTA+ members. They've also thrown in various collectibles and bonuses tied to specific missions.
The Verge’s Andrew Webster, in his review of GTA V, highlighted not just the game's expansive world and engaging gameplay but particularly praised Rockstar's storytelling. He noted that the multi-perspective narrative is something unique to this medium, setting it apart from cinematic experiences.
In the years since its launch, Rockstar has not only ported the game to newer generations of Xbox and PlayStation but also enhanced the graphics with features like ray tracing. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing; the company had to rectify glitches in their remasters of the first three 3D GTA titles.
As for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar remains tight-lipped. Despite confirming its development last year and a major leak involving 90 minutes of gameplay footage, information remains sparse. The latest news from Rockstar is their collaboration with mod developer team Cfx.re to support roleplay servers.
