"Evotinction," a stealth action game developed by Spikewave Games and published by Astrolabe Games, has recently been rated PEGI 12 in Europe. The rating, by the Pan European Game Information (PEGI), suggests that the game is suitable for players aged 12 and up due to moderate violence or mild swearing.

Set in a near-future scenario, the game plunges players into a self-sufficient research facility located beneath the Himalayas. A mysterious virus corrupts the facility's advanced AI system, causing once-harmless service robots to turn against humans. Players assume the role of Dr. Liu, a system designer who embarks on a risky journey to find survivors and neutralize the rogue AI.

The gameplay is described as a "Futuristic Tactical Infiltrate Simulation." Dr. Liu lacks combat training, which makes the game more focused on hack-and-stealth mechanics. From disrupting long-range signals to taking over rogue AI systems, the protagonist utilizes a wide array of tech skills to navigate through the perilous, automated facility. Enemies range from everyday service robots, dubbed "Genie," to specialized killer bots designed to protect the core system.

While the game unravels, players will be tasked with answering a pressing question: Is the mayhem solely the result of the infected AI, or are there darker forces at play?

The PEGI 12 rating should assure prospective players that the game balances excitement with age-appropriate content, making "Evotinction" a title worth watching as it edges closer to its release.
