Chinese game giant NetEase Games has announced its first game studio in the US, Jackalope Games, which will be based in Austin, Texas.
The studio will be creating PC and console games as a first-party studio of NetEase Games. It will be led by veteran MMO developer Jack Emmert, who is well-known for City of Heroes, Neverwinter, Star Trek Online, and DC Universe Online.
The studio will operate independently and maintain creative autonomy in its game development and publishing. NetEase Games are fully funding the first project to be produced by Jackalope Games.
