CD Projekt, the renowned game studio, has revealed it is "considering" incorporating multiplayer elements into the sequel of its hit game "Cyberpunk 2077." This development news was shared by CEO Adam Badowski in an interview with Reuters, where he discussed the studio's current projects, including the much-anticipated next Witcher game.

Officially codenamed Orion, the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is still in the conceptual phase. The studio previously had ambitious plans for multiplayer in the original Cyberpunk 2077, which were scaled back after the game's challenging launch. However, following the success of last year's Phantom Liberty expansion, the studio is revisiting the idea for the upcoming sequel.

Simultaneously, CD Projekt is progressing with the next Witcher game, codenamed Polaris. Around 330 developers are currently involved, with aims to increase the team to 400 by mid-year. The production phase for Polaris is expected to commence this year.

Besides these major titles, CD Projekt's Molasses Flood team is working on a multiplayer Witcher spin-off, and an external studio, Fool's Theory, is developing a Witcher 1 remake. Release dates for these projects are yet to be announced, signaling a busy and exciting period ahead for CD Projekt.
