On June 7, the official website of the People's Court of China published a verdict of a civil lawsuit, which showed that China’s leading video community BiliBili has applied to freeze a total of 5,497,920 dollars of corporate assets of Wangyuan Shengtang Entertainment Technology CO., the publishing company of the popular Chinese ARPG Gujian series. According to the verdict, the People's Court of China granted BiliBili's application to freeze Wangyuan Shengtang’s assets on February 22, 2022, and has started executing the freezing process on the same day.
As of now, the reason why BiliBili applied the freezing of the assets remains unknown.
Later today, Gujian’s publisher made an announcement that this was a “misunderstading”, and the situation was resolved.
