Azure Flame Studio, known for its successful battle chess game, Banner of the Maids, released the first gameplay trailer of its upcoming mobile game Vide Et Credere(Echos of Vision) on June 13, one day before the closed beta test. The main director and the art designer also discussed some of the game's world-building and character design in the trailer.

Similar to Azure Flame Studio’s last work, Banner of the Maids, Vide Et Credere(Echos of Vision) is a battle chess game that requires players’ careful consideration, clever use of the units in the game, and making the right decision in time to achieve the objectives. However, how Vide Et Credere(Echos of Vision) differs is that Azure Flame Studio turned the large army that players could command before into a smaller group of agents belonging to the Bureau of Crisis Response. Players can no longer achieve victory through the advantage of their unstoppable troops but need to rely on their understanding of the different special abilities of the agents, the cooperation between them, and the rational use of the in-game terrain to defeat the enemies.

In the trailer, the bunker in the battle scene seems to be an essential factor in the combat system. The main director has repeatedly shown how playable characters can dodge enemies’ attacks behind the bunkers and fight back.

Earlier, Azure Flame had also mentioned on Weibo the importance of different terrain for combat. Vide Et Credere(Echos of Vision) may place great emphasis on using the limited number of action points in a turn to occupy an advantageous position and get control of the whole situation.

The main art designer for the game has also shown up in the trailer to reveal the image of the chief of the Bureau of Crisis Response, the character that players will play as. Vide Et Credere(Echos of Vision) has offered players two different options, which will result in slight differences in the in-game text but will not affect the specific stories.

The art designer has also mentioned that the game's world-building was inspired by some classic architectural styles from the end of the Cold War in the last century, including brutalist buildings, nostalgic phone booths and old-fashioned cameras, etc.

As of now, Vide Et Credere(Echos of Vision)'s first closed beta test has begun; follow Superpixel to get further information.
