At the online shareholder meeting of YOOZOO Interactive, Chen Fang, the Director and General Manager of the company, answered the progress inquiry of the ongoing “The Three-Body Problem” project. According to Chen, “The Three-Body Problem” game adaption will be released in 3-5 years.

“The Three-Body Problem” is a science fiction novel by the Chinese writer Liu Cixin. The book has become one of the most successful Chinese science fiction novels of the last two decades. It won a Hugo Award for Best Novel and was nominated for the Nebula Award for Best Novel.

Since the Wandering Earth, the movie adaption for another novel by Liu Cixin has achieved commercial success in 2019. People believe the adaptions of The Three-Body Problem including movies, animation, and video games will be successes as well.

In 2015, YOOZOO Interactive announced they had started a movie and game adaption project for “The Three-Body Problem” in the annual report. In 2020, YOOZOO revealed a cooperation contract between YOOZOO and the Three-Body Universe for 2-3 video game adaptions of the novel. However, the first edition of the movie was canceled, and they were remaking a new one afterward. The game adaptions were not released or had more detail revealed in the past years. It makes people worry about what the future of “The Three-Body Problem” will be like.
