Today, the Chinese indie game development studio, HeartBeat Plus, has released a trailer of their latest work, Paper Bride IV. The Paper Bride series is famous in China for its unique, suspenseful atmosphere and love-themed folklore horror stories. The work will continue the core plot of Paper Bride to tell the story of how an evil curse originating in a haunted mountain village has influenced the lives of people related to the events.
HeartBeat Plus uses an ancient Chinese shadow puppet and paper-cutting art style in the trailer and tells the horror story of a bride and her entire family killed by a sudden fire on her wedding night. At the end of the trailer, the old mansion that burnt down decades ago mysteriously reappears in front of a group of people who come to investigate the village. What they don’t know is that the real horror has just begun...
