Today, Japanese developer and publisher D3 announced their new "girls samurai action game" Samurai Maiden (PC / PS5 / PS4 / Nintendo Switch). The game will be released in the winter of 2022 worldwide.
Samurai Maiden follows the story of a high school girl, Tsumugi, with sharp swordsmanship skills. After falling asleep in a boring history class, Tsumugi finds herself in Honnō-ji during the Sengoku period and must team up with new ninja friends to quickly fight through the Underworld beneath Honnō-ji.
The ninja friends of Tsumugi are known as The Gokage, and they have special abilities that can be unlocked to empower Tsumugi by sharing their life energy. To unleash the special skills, Tsumugi and The Gokage need to build trust and be in contact with each other's hands, faces, or bodies, and the power of the ability is said to be maximized when their lips are locked.
