Japanese publisher ININ Games and developer Bliss Brain announced today that Wonder Boy Ultimate Collection (PS4 / Nintendo Switch) would be released on December 8. The price is 5830 JPY (44 USD). Pre-orders for the standard edition are being accepted at retail stores and online stores nationwide in Japan beginning August 10.
The Ultimate Collection is a curated collection of six titles from Sega's Wonder Boy series, precisely ported to modern home consoles. It includes filters, shaders, rewind/fast forward buttons, and a save-anytime option. All games, except for Monster World IV, have ported versions, allowing players to enjoy the differences.
In addition to the standard edition, a "Special Pack" will be released at 9130 JPY (68 USD), including an original soundtrack CD featuring famous songs from the series, an art book with interviews with the original staff, and other extras.
