Last week, Street Fighter VI, the newest entry in this classic fighting game series, jumped back onto the center stage with its anticipated closed beta test.

The first game in the Street Fighter series debuted in arcades in 1987. Players control martial artist Ryu to compete in a worldwide martial arts tournament spanning five countries in the game. Now nearly 35 years old, Street Fighter is one of the highest-grossing fighting game series of all time and one of Capcom's flagship franchises. The design of classic characters such as Ryu, Chun Li, and Guile has been passed down from the arcade era and is still a fan favorite.
