Japanese Mahjong Soul Player Sends Death Threat to Development Team For Losing

A male student at Nihon University was arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department for sending death threats ("I'm going to kill you") to a game company because he was angry about losing an online mahjong game, Mahjong Soul.

The 21-year-old male student from Nihon University was suspected of sending messages such as "I'm going to kill you" and "Die, die, die" to Yostar, a game company that operates an online mahjong application, from its website in May last year to force its employees to go home early and obstruct its business.

The police are investigating additional charges.

The game's operator commented, "We will respond to similar posts in cooperation with the police.
