Nintendo has recently shared a tip on their official support account regarding the use of the Switch. They recommend that players use the dedicated charging cable for the Switch and avoid using charging cables from other devices.

According to Nintendo, if a non-Nintendo Switch charging cable, such as a smartphone charging cable, is forcefully inserted while charging the Nintendo Switch, it may damage the charging cable or the USB port of the Switch. Additionally, if any issues arise when inserting the cable, they advise checking if it is the correct cable.
Nintendo has previously mentioned that the Switch should not be left without charging for long periods of time and should be charged at least once every 6 months to avoid potential charging issues.
