Loopmancer is a Rogue-lite side-scrolling indie action game set place in Dragon City, a fictional futuristic cyberpunk city.
In the game, the player will control Xiang Zixu, a skillful detective, investigating the missing case of a famous female journalist. Once the main protagonist gets killed, he will find himself looped back to the moment he woke up on the bed earlier that day. Everything will be reset except his memory and that is where the title comes from.
Loopmancer has an extraordinary amazing art design of its stages. From the luxurious Tang Dynasty Hotel to the gloomy Shuigou Village, all the stages are gorgeous and detailed. It feels like running and fighting in an actual living Cyberpunk-style Eastern City while playing the game.
The intense combat in Loopmancer suits well as a rogue-lite game. A precise dodge or parry will gain advantages against enemies and attack them back with blades, guns, or chip skills. The player can collect over 100 weapons, chip skills, and other useful items in the game and use them to build a strong character in that loop.
As the game progresses, there will be more clues revealed to the player and sometimes the players must make difficult choices that may determine the fate of other characters and even the final ending.
Need to mention that the game has great English localization including full English voice acting making us almost forget it is a Chinese game while playing.
