A new psychological horror puzzle game, "NARRENSCHIFF," has just unveiled its playable demo. The game invites players into a spooky mental hospital set in a fictional European authoritarian state during the 1980s. Players assume the role of Wayde Othman, a data entry officer from the Environmental Bureau, who must navigate through the eerie, almost deserted facility to recover his lost memories and untangle a deep-seated conspiracy.

The game’s vintage pixel and pencil-drawn art style adds another layer of ambiance to the uncanny world. Taking cues from the sci-fi classics "Solaris" and "The South Reach," the game blurs the lines between reality and memory, offering players a uniquely unsettling journey.

True to its RPG Maker roots, "NARRENSCHIFF" includes a number of genre staples. These include complex puzzle-solving that reveals the lore of the game world, and narrative sequences that are more akin to a visual novel than a traditional horror game. Players will also encounter high-intensity chases where they must escape monstrous threats, all set to a deeply emotional score by musician Musuii.
