ByteDance’s mobile titles generated 1 billion USD mobile game revenues between June 21, 2021, and June 20, 2022, which marks a 16% increase year-on-year, according to Sensor Tower.

The data come from the player spending on the Apple Store and Google Play and do not include spending from third-party Android stores in China.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is the most successful title, generating 317.7 million USD in the period, accounting for about 32 percent of the total. Girls Chronicle: Idle Heroine ranks behind at No. 2, while Mobile Legends: Adventure ranks No. 3.

ByteDance’s largest market for player spending in this period is Japan, which accounts for about 34 percent of the total.

The remarkable revenues are considered a success as it faces fierce competition from Tencent and NetEase.

ByteDance has launched subsidiaries such as Ohayoo and Nuverse. Last year, it acquired Mobile Legends: Bang Bang developer Moonton and Girls Chronicle: Idle Heroine studio C4, as a new step into the global game market.
