Global Revenue Ranking of Chinese Game Publishers in August 2022

Sensor Tower data shows that in August 2022, a total of 40 Chinese mobile game publishers were listed in the Top 100 global mobile game publishers' revenue list on the App Store and Google Play. In total, they drew more than 2 billion USD, accounting for 38.1% of the total revenue.

On August 11, Tencent and Perfect World jointly launched the light science fiction open world game Tower of Fantasy in overseas markets. The game then topped the mobile game download charts in the US, Japan, Korea, and China and became the fastest growing mobile game in terms of global revenue in August. Thanks to Tower of Fantasy, Tencent's mobile revenue grew 2% in August; Perfect World's mobile revenue grew 34%, advancing eight spots to No.18.

The launch of Diablo: Immortal in China by NetEase on July 25 created significant revenue growth for NetEase, increasing 234% YoY in August. It was also NetEase's highest-grossing mobile game for the period and ranked No. 3 on China's iOS mobile game revenue chart.

Since April this year, IM30's post-apocalyptic survival simulation game Last Fortress: Underground has seen a rapid rise in revenue, with a 19% YoY growth this period, making the publisher set a new revenue record since the launch of the game.

Thanks to the rich content of the 2.5-anniversary celebration of the Japanese Arknights server, Yostar Limited's revenue increased by 18% in August and rose three places to return to the top 10 of the publishers' revenue list.

Survivor.io, which was launched overseas in early August, quickly took the markets by storm with its unique Roguelike gameplay and successful advertising campaign, ranking 8th in the global mobile game revenue growth list. The revenue of Habby network increased 159%, a record high, and placed it No.19 in the revenue list of Chinese mobile game publishers.
