China to Account for Nearly a Third of This Year’s World eSports Revenues, Report

According to a report by Newzoo, the eSports industry will generate nearly 1.38 billion USD in revenue this year, in part driven by the popularity of League of Legends. By estimates, China will be responsible for almost a third of them.

Besides this, the global eSports audience will grow by 8.7% year on year to reach 532 million.

Southeast Asia, Central Southern Asia, and Latin America have the fastest growth, with 2020-2025 compound annual growth rates (CAGRs) of 27.6%, 23.4%, and 19%, respectively.

Most of the eSports revenues come from sponsorship, 837.3 million USD, accounting for 60% of the total earnings.
