Global Revenue Ranking of Chinese Mobile Game Publishers in April 2022

Sensor Tower data statistics show that in April 2022, a total of 38 Chinese companies were listed in the TOP 100 global mobile game publishers revenue list, with a combined profit of more than 2.3 billion dollars, accounting for 41.8% of the total revenue in the list, as reported in detail below.

In April, Tencent's strategy game Return to Empire launched on March 29th and ranked 9th on China's IOS mobile game best-seller list. Combined with the outstanding performance of Game For Peace, Tencent's mobile game revenue for the period increased by 4% year on year.

On April 28th, the day the new plant crisis version was launched, NetEase's Life After hit the peak of single-day revenue since the launch, coupled with many in-game activities of the mobile game Fantasy Westward Journey NetEase's revenue in April has grown by 15%.

Thanks to the launch of the Japanese version of Orient Arcadia in early April and the excellent performance of Sangokushi: Strategy Edition in the global market, LINGXI Games' revenue grew 11% year on year. During this period, its revenue ranking rose one position to No. 6.

Long Tech. co's three strategy games, Last Shelter: Survival, Rise of Empires, and Last Empire, all saw revenue growth across the board, resulting in a 12% year-over-year improvement in publisher revenue, advancing the ranking five spots to No. 10.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has held the biggest celebration of the year, the 515 Party, and with the massive events such as the new Zilong skin and BIGO LIVE collaboration, the publisher Moonton Games' revenue for the period grew 19% year on year. With more skins and events coming online for the 515 Party and the traffic boost from the TikTok platform, publisher revenue is set to increase further in May.

Following Civilization and Conquest, 4399 Games launched its RPG mobile game Legend of the Mysterious: The Divine Wood in mid-April in China's Hong Kong and Macau markets, with a corresponding 11% increase in publisher revenue.

With the opening of Arknights' 2022 Spring Thanksgiving Festival event and Mahjong Soul's microtransaction promotion, Yostar Limited's revenue grew 67% year on year, moving up eight spots to 19th place. On April 28th, Yostar Limited surpassed SQUARE ENIX, Cygames, and other local majors to top the Japanese mobile publisher revenue chart.

Outside the list, the Chinese mobile game publishers listed in the global revenue Top 100 are FriendTimes, Duoyi Network, StarUnion Game, Boke City, ChuangCool Entertainment, X.D. Network.Inc, Mattel163 and Hero Games. 38 manufacturers in total, of which 27 have more than 50% of overseas revenue.
