Honor of Kings Challenger Cup: EDG.M Knocked Out by MTG and More

Three matches were held yesterday in the Honor of Kings Challenger Cup, where EDG.M beat MTG 2:1, Wz defeated BOA 2:1, and TCG swept GOG 2:0.

Despite winning the match against MTG, EDG.M was knocked out by MTG because the two teams were tied at the end of the Group Stage and MTG had more points.

In detail, in game one of the match between EDG.M and MTG, initially, EDG.M Yanmeng on Sang Qi helped his team fully control the pace of the game by securing an advantage in the mid-lane. At 10 minutes, EDG.M Ningzhi on Meng Tian killed Jia Luo, allowing his team to destroy two base towers and take the win in this round.

In round two, MTG made a sudden comeback, and at 11 minutes, MTG Xiaojiu on Jia Luo achieved a double kill in a team fight. Despite making some mistakes following that, MTG recovered quickly. At 20 minutes, MTG Mitu triggered the last team fight, allowing his team to ace EDG.M. In the end, MTG won this round, eliminating any chance for EDG.M to win with a clean sweep and, therefore, knocked out EDG.M.

While the result of the third round could not prevent EDG.M from being knocked out, they won it, and EDG.M Ming earned the MVP Award.

Between Wz and BOA, Wz secured a comfortable victory in the first round. In game two, BOA Yushang ended 6/1/4, allowing his team to bring the match to a tie 1:1. In the decisive third round, at 14 minutes, Wz Awen on Lan managed to sneak-attack Zhang Fei in the jungle and helped his team kill three champions without losing a single member. In the end, Wz secured a victory in the match 2:1.

Between TCG and GOG, TCG didn’t give GOG much of a chance and won the match 2:0.
